DE DOELEN


De Doelen is één van de bekendste concert- en evenementenlocaties van Rotterdam, internationaal geroemd om zijn akoestiek en de thuisbasis van onder andere het Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest. Naast orkestconcerten vinden hier ook congressen en culturele evenementen plaats in een architectonisch sterke omgeving waar licht, ruimte en lijnenspel samenkomen.

Voor De Doelen kreeg ik de bijzondere kans om de Grote Zaal vast te leggen. Een indrukwekkende ruimte waar alles klopt. Alleen in zo’n zaal staan geeft alle rust om echt te kijken, te spelen met perspectief en de architectuur zijn werk te laten doen.


Tijdens het fotograferen stond ik op het podium met mijn Canon 5D Mark IV en een 24mm tilt-shift lens. Elke klik van de sluiter weerklonk door de hele zaal, een moment waarop je letterlijk ervaart hoe bijzonder de akoestiek hier is.

De beelden zijn gebruikt voor de website van De Doelen. Na deze opdracht volgden meerdere mooie evenementen die ik hier mocht vastleggen.
